“Gandi Baat” is a new exhibition which looks at political themes through a design lens. Artists have used a range of styles and techniques to engage visitors and evoke curiosity. The exhibition hope visitors will walk away with a deeper understanding of the ties that bind design, activism and politics. Participating artists include Abhishek Ray, Soumitra Adhikari, Achira Basu, Ashish Ghosh, Bazlur Rahaman (Baiju), Meenakshi Sengupta, Phalguni Samanta, Samir Roy, Sanjita Sarkar, Shohini Gupta, Sumanta Chakraborty, Tamal Bhattacharya, Tulu Sarkar, Vivek Kumar and Swarup Dutta, who is also the organiser.

An overnight trek near Mumbai to see a small fort and greet the sunrise? Sign us up. The Firefly Kothaligad Night Trek will depart to Peth village on Saturday night to see caves carved into huge rocks at the local fort. This geological marvel is renowned for its well-sculpted pillars.

A moving meditation set to music is on this weekend. “Ecstatic dance” is free-form movement and dance where bodies move without judgment or concern for how “well” you are dancing. The music in such a session tends to start and end slowly. Talking on the dance floor is replaced by other forms of expression: physical, emotional and, occasionally, verbal. A live DJ set by UK-based Primal Flow will set the mood to the “ecstatic dance.”

Run India Run is a specialist in the space of marathon training and is conducting a 90-minute boot camp in the city this weekend. Participants can expect cardio activities and drills, full body strengthening and stretching exercises, and a Q&A session. Registration is free.
