Appwatch India Assist

Simrran Gill

Travelling in an unknown nation, especially one as dynamic as India, is not an easy task. For solo travellers, anxiety kicks in at the slightest potential threat, but keep the &lsquoIndia Assist&rsquo app handy and you are in for a smooth ride. Addressing the lack of centralised mechanisms to guide foreign tourists, the app is useful in case of medical emergencies, altercations and untoward incidents like theft or loss. Providing both online and offline assistance, India Assist supplies transit information over phone (or in person) by allocating verified personnel to a user&rsquos live location. Its user-friendly interface also lists emergency contacts, a user&rsquos current location, and allows one to revisit past and future requests. Currently functional in Delhi NCR, the app can be easily logged into via Facebook and Gmail. It occupies less than 50MB when downloaded, leaving ample space for all the photographs and videos you&rsquoll take in India. Available on Android and iOS devices.
