OT What made you decide to become a forest ranger
M. Yograj When I was young, I would see leopards very frequently in my village near Shimoga. While spotting a leopard every other day was commonplace, most people would still panic when they saw one. One day, when I was coming back from school, I saw a tiger crossing the road. I was rooted to the spot with fear and, I think, the tiger was too. We both stood staring at each other for a good minute or two before he scurried away. I knew at that moment that I wanted to be in the forest, working closely with animals.
