OT Why is it special
Brett Lee It is one of the world&rsquos most unique destinations &mdash a luxury property perched over one of Australia&rsquos most wild and beautiful regions. The service is attentive and friendly but not overwhelming. The food is first-class and the activities as adventurous or as laidback as you like.

OT Is it hard to find
Brett Lee It takes some effort, flying from Sydney to Darwin, then to Kununurra, then a two-hour drive along the stunning Cockburn Ranges. At sunset, the Homestead appears like an oasis.

OT Any special meals
Brett Lee Meals are served under the stars, on the verandahs or by the gorge over the river, using the freshest produce of the Kimberly region. My most memorable meal was wild barramundi with green mango and boab root salsa.

OT Your greatest adventure there
Brett Lee I flew by helicopter to one of the freshwater fishing holes, not accessible by road. It was amazing the isolation, the pristine waters, the scenery and particularly the fishing and the size of the barramundi.

OT Best thing about it
Brett Lee Location. You never tire of looking over the pool and lawn to the Chamberlain Gorge and the ancient ranges beyond. What other hotel can claim a million acres for its gardens

OT Would you go back
Brett Lee I would love to take my son Preston when he is older and can fully appreciate the beauty of the Australian outback. So many things we could do together &mdash fishing, wildlife tours, cattle musters and boating through the gorges.
