Purulia district in West Bengal is&nbspone of the traditional homes of the masked Chhau dance. The village of Charida in Purulia&ndashconsidered to be the hub of the dance&ndashhas been labelled as Mukhosh Gram (&lsquoVillage of Masks&rsquo). In 2010, Chhau was inscribed in the UNESCO&rsquos Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity and has also obtained the Geographical Identification (GI) tag.
