The sultry Delhi weather had thus far acted as my worst enemy. Three months in the capital of India and the most exploring I had done was discover a secret compartment that had previously eluded me in my closet. With temperature skywards of 40 degrees, motivation and desire to roam my new home had dissipated.

As late-September touched down, Delhi's sweltering atmosphere took a much required break. Taking the opportunity with open hands, my friend, who had been visiting from Mumbai, and I embarked on an extensive plan to explore the corners of Old Delhi. From a trip to the historic Red Fort to crowded Chandni Chowk to the Jama Masjid, we did it all while trying out the most authentic street food of Delhi. 

Throughout our mini-adventure, we encountered people  that are the pride of the national capital. Dilwaloon Ki Delhi as it is lovingly recognised is home to the most kind-hearted individuals that add a breathe of fresh air to the hustle and bustle of the capital. From the auto-rickshaw driver who recommended the best places to eat to the 5-year child at Jama Masjid who offered me his BMW to drive on the pavements of the mosque, the walk around Old Delhi was one of my personal favorite experiences.
