After a two-year gap, Rajasthan's famous and very luxurious 'Palace on Wheels' is back on track and here is a chance for you to experience royalty like never before. The seven-day journey leaves no stones unturned in ensuring you feel like a king or a queen. Apart from Delhi and Agra, the seven-day journey covers Rajasthan's Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Chittorgarh, Jaisalmer and Bharatpur. The train, which can accommodate 82 passengers across its 39 deluxe cabins and 2 super deluxe cabins, takes you on a journey filled with much exuberance.

The History

Suppose one was to go back in time. Much later, the Rajasthan Tourism and Indian Railways came together to revamp a special heritage tourist train to provide a unique experience for tourists visiting Rajasthan. The name 'Palace On Wheels' was inspired by the personal carriages used by former rulers and Maharajas. which gradually saw many interior changes.

The Palace On Wheels is all about royalty and elegance, and there cannot be a better way to experience it than hop on board. Initially, the Palace on Wheels was created out of actual carriages and saloons of former Maharajas. All of this, though, comes at a cost. A single occupancy deluxe cabin would cost approximately Rs 5,98,290 taxes for an Indian passport holder. For a Deluxe Cabin on double occupancy Rs 7,78,036Taxes, and for a Super deluxe cabin Rs 10,76,922 taxes. The train offers a visit to Jaipur, followed by the Ranthambore Tiger Reserve, Chittorgarh Hill Fort, Udaipur. Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary and the Taj Mahal in Agra.
