The Dharmarajeshwara temple is a rock-cut temple site located around 100 km from Mandsaur. The complex, which comprises well-preserved Buddhist caves and a Hindu shrine, is somewhat similar to Maharashtra's rock-cut cultural monuments of Ellora.

The temple construction dates back to the 8th century and was initially a Vishnu shrine before being converted into a Shiva temple. As a result, the sanctum sanctorum contains both a Harihara icon and a shivalinga.

The Dharmrajeshwara Temple is a 50-metre-long, 20-metre-wide, and 9-metre-deep monolithic structure carved out of solid natural rock body of a hill. The main temple has a large shivalinga with a statue of Lord Vishnu. The carved images of Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi adorn the entrance gate. There are seven small temples around the main temple.
