Recently, the Ahom-era ‘Moidams’ in Assam has been declared India's 43rd World Heritage Site, marking it as the first cultural property from the Northeast to receive this prestigious recognition. Nestled in the northeastern state of Assam, the Ahom Moidams are the royal burial grounds of the Ahom dynasty. These ancient structures capture Assam's regal past, offering a fascinating blend of history, architecture, and folklore. This decision was made during UNESCO's 46th World Heritage Committee session in New Delhi.
