When in 'French Colony', grab on something that is purely French, and what could be a better option than a cafe that has been established by a lady from France Established in 2016 after two years of rigorous preparation by Lala Sou, Eat My Cake is the perfect cafe in the White Town to have some authentic French delicacies. Lala Sou says that the idea of a women-exclusive cafe came to her when they visited a special-needs school in 2014 where 99 per cent of the accompanying persons were mothers. These women had been discriminated against for giving birth to children with special needs, and Lala Sou thought that giving them power back in the family circle through a salary could be a start to a better life. From there, there has been no looking back for Eat My Cake. They serve exclusive French cuisine at their gourmand breakfasts, quick lunches and evening teas. Think macaroons, croquembouches, pondy-breasts, chocolate eclairs, millefeuilles and their most famous (and my favourite) croissant. So while you are strolling through the French Colony near the Notre Dam Church, take time out to munch on Eat My Cake&rsquos creations. That will surely make for the perfect Pondi evening.
