Feeling like I was transported to Germany of the bygone years, I didn&rsquot bother ordering the usual appetisers and instead asked for the stars of the restaurant. First, of course, were the BBQ spare ribs &ndash char grilled pork ribs with homemade sticky BBQ sauce, which came with aoli and a salad. The sweet, tangy, soft and succulent pork ribs just melt in your mouth. Second, I tried the very light and airy beer batter fried fish. The fish sticks are seriously addictive. Third, Cordon bleu &ndash pan fried chicken schnitzel (chicken breast) stuffed with Prague ham and Gouda cheese. The chicken breast was juicy and well seasoned and accompanied by potato wedges. The next dish plated for me was Eisbein &ndash lamb shank, braised and slow roasted to perfection served with baked potatoes and braised cabbage. When it comes to lamb, I am a very picky eater if the lamb is not cooked right, then the meat tends to get chewy. This one was falling off the bone And last but not the least, probably something that we all identify Germany with, came the Wurstteller mit Sauerkraut und Kartoffelpurie &ndash the humble sausage. The sausage platter had three different kinds of sausages (smoked, weiss wurst and wiener) and was accompanied by braised cabbage and mashed potatoes. Good ambience. Good food and really good drinks. The Berlin beer remained with me till the end.
