The inaugural Ras Al Khaimah Golf Challenge will be the penultimate event of the 2016 European Challenge Tour (europeantour.com) season. It will be held at the Al Hamra Golf Club (www.alhamragolf.com) from October 26 to 29, 2016. Designed by Peter Harradine, the par-72 championship, 18-hole golf course, measuring 7,325 yards, sprawls around four inter-connected open water lagoons near the Arabian Gulf. It is sponsored by Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (rasalkhaimahtourism.com), so apart from attending the tournament, you can also take in the sights and sounds of the city, about 45 minutes&rsquo drive from Dubai International Airport and known for its picturesque deserts, white sand beaches and adventure activities such as water sports, micro-lighting, mountain climbing, kayaking.
