The base of the Kareri Lake trek is Kareri Village, which is about 27 km from Dharamshala. You can reach Dharamshala by air, rail, or road from various cities in India. The nearest airport is Gaggal Airport, about 15 km from Dharamshala. The nearest railway station is Pathankot, about 85 km from Dharamshala. You can also take a bus or a taxi from Delhi, Chandigarh, Shimla, or Manali to Dharamshala. From Dharamshala, you can hire a taxi or a local bus to reach Kareri Village, which takes about an hour.
