Two flights, one ferry across the Brahmaputra, 36 hours on bumpy mountain roads, an hour&rsquos wait for gas, and two failed cars &mdash that&rsquos what it took us to get to the Mechuka valley, 29 kilometres from the Indo-Tibet border, for its first ever &lsquoAdventure Festival&rsquo. Add to that just the right dose of luck &mdash not only did our first car conveniently break down at a picturesque spot but it did so near the only village where a second car could be had for the next hundred kilometres or so. Our replacement vehicle stuck to the script and broke down as well &mdash but in front of a house that happened to have just the right tool to fix the problematic part.
