Open from April to November, The Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route, often called the "Roof of Japan," is a spectacular journey through the Northern Japan Alps, spanning Toyama and Nagano prefectures. Famous for its breathtaking landscapes, it combines thrilling trekking paths, scenic transport, and awe-inspiring landmarks like the Kurobe Dam and Tateyama Snow Wall. Covering approximately 37 kilometers with climbs to an elevation of 2,450 metres, the route makes for a unique adventure for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts when in Japan.
