Places To Go To

Kerala has something for everyone. Immerse yourself in an array of captivating experiences—from serene backwater cruises and thriving wildlife sanctuaries to aromatic tea and coffee spice plantations and incredible ancient temples. One of these is the Neerputhoor Mahadeva Temple, a spiritual haven tucked away in the peaceful village of Puthoor in Kerala's Malappuram district. What sets this sacred site apart is its captivating sanctum sanctorum, where a Shivalinga rests, surrounded by water. Read more here.

The Buddha statue in Bodh Gaya

From the tree under which the Buddha attained enlightenment to stupas and caves, there are several vibrantly spiritual places along the Buddhist trail in Bihar. Bodh Gaya is believed to be the city where the Buddha achieved enlightenment while meditating under a Bodhi tree. The site was renamed Bodh Gaya, and the tree (now thought to be in its fourth or fifth generation) is known worldwide as the Bodhi Tree. In fact, the full moon day on which Shakyamuni attained enlightenment is now celebrated as Buddha Purnima. UNESCO has designated the Mahabodhi Temple complex as a World Heritage Site.

An old Portuguese church in North Goa

With its rich heritage, diverse religions, and intriguing ghost stories, the churches of Goa deserve attention. While the Panjim Church and the Basilica of Bom Jesus are well-known, here is a list of some charming and lesser-known places to visit.

For Foodie Couples

A street food stall selling lassi in Varanasi

From the best street food to upscale gastronomy, India offers an extraordinary array of culinary experiences that are truly unmatched. If you’re a food enthusiast, don’t miss the chance to indulge in these unforgettable gastronomic adventures across the country.

Experience the cuisine of Michelin-starred Chef Vineet Bhatia at the newly opened Ziya in Delhi, where the essence of the food is deeply rooted in traditional Indian flavours. Situated at The Oberoi in Gurugram, the restaurant pays tribute to quintessential Indian dishes, infused with a contemporary twist. More about it here.

At the morning breakfast

Tiretta Bazaar, located in a neighbourhood near Lalbazar in central Kolkata, was formerly known as the Old China Market. In this area, you'll find Chinese temples (referred to as churches), clubs, provision stores, and even a morning breakfast ritual. Although the current atmosphere is a diluted version of its former self, we still recommend visiting Tiretta Bazaar for breakfast. You can enjoy home-style dishes such as light soups and broths, including noodles, fish or meatballs, and some greens. Additionally, you can try momos or steamed baos with various fillings; one must-try option is the fungus and sweet plum stuffing. More here.
