Nandi Hills is a hill station in the Chikkaballapur district of Karnataka, India. Its distance from Bangalore is approximately 60 km, while just 10 km from Chikkaballapur town. Also known as Nandidurga, which translates to the fort of Nandi, it houses a temple dedicated to the bull mount of Lord Shiva. Tipu Sultan, the ruler of Mysore, spent his summers here and built several monuments and structures on the hills, such as the famous Tipu’s Drop, Tipu’s Summer Residence, and Tipu’s Mosque. Apart from its historical significance, Nandi Hills is also a popular tourist destination due to its scenic view of the surrounding plains and valleys and its pleasant climate throughout the year.
