Flying for the first time can be quite an unnerving experience. The thrill of experiencing the bright blue skies and white clouds so closely come coupled with constant worries of whether the check-in process will be smooth. Add to this the growing number of people who are taking flights on a daily basis; air and airport traffic has almost quadrupled in the last 15 years, leading to frequent delays and unnecessary hassles.

To make the entire process easier for the first-time flyer, here is a 5-step guide for a smooth web check in for your first flight.

Step 1: Visit your airline’s official website or check-in page.

Step 2: Enter your booking reference/ PNR number and surname to initiate the check in process.

Step 3: Select the passengers you would like to check in. In some cases, you would be asked to enter advance passenger information if required by the destination country.

Step 4: Post the above, you will get the option of changing seats or adding any missing passengers before the finalized check-in.

Step 5: Your check-in is completed and an E-boarding pass will now be issued for each passenger (at select airports).
