The much-loved Van Rani, the iconic miniature train of Sanjay Gandhi National Park (SGNP), is set to return to service by the end of September after a hiatus of over four years. A long-time favourite since its debut in 1970, the train was suspended in May 2021 following extensive damage caused by Cyclone Tauktae. Now, the forest department is introducing a modern, battery-operated version featuring four Vistadome carriages, offering passengers sweeping views of the park’s lush surroundings.
