The Uttarakhand government is most likely to launch hovercrafts and ferry boats to ease the journey of the pilgrims and tourists at Haridwar for Mahakumbh 2021. According to reports, the hovercrafts will be able to transport approximately 100 to 125 people in one round.

The Kumbh Mela administration had given a presentation to the shipping ministry in Delhi. They have sent a proposal to the ministry and, if they get the permission, they will start the work.

The launch of these hovercrafts and ferry boats will ease the traffic conditions on highways and inner roads.

On order to maintain safety due to the pandemic, and also for effective management, the Ganga ghats will be divided into 23 sectors and colour-coded zones. The state government will set up a 1,000-bed COVID care centre with over 400 doctors on duty. An ambulance will also be available outside every spot for any kind of medical emergency.
