With the pandemic cancelling major 2020 travel plans for everyone around the globe, the island country has lately been witnessing a lot of tourists.

Travel restrictions in Maldives are strict, for a good cause. No passenger is allowed to enter the country without a negative COVID-19 result. And if they test positive while in the country, they can board a flight only after getting a negative RT PCR test result, 72 hours before the flight.

Another factor that makes Maldives attractive for travel is that tourist visas are granted for people of all nationalities on arrival, which saves the hassle of applying for a visa pre-approval.
