Soaking in some sun and breathing in beach vibes sounds like an ideal vacation, especially if it is in the island paradise of Maldives.

It has been on the top of many bucketlists of must-visit travel destinations, especially for Indians. The Indian High Commission in Maldives tweeted that Indians were the "top source market for Maldives tourismin 2020."

People are not only vacationing there with friends, but couples are going there to enjoy romantic weekend getaways. Maldives is also a highly popular destination wedding location. With the pandemic cancelling major 2020 travel plans for everyone around the globe, the island country has lately been witnessing a lot of tourists.

Travel restrictions in Maldives are strict, for a good cause. No passenger is allowed to enter the country without a negative COVID-19 result. And if they test positive while in the country, they can board a flight only after getting a negative RT PCR test result, 72 hours before the flight.

Another factor that makes Maldives attractive for travel is that tourist visas are granted for people of all nationalities on arrival, which saves the hassle of applying for a visa pre-approval.

Bollywood stars have been spotted vacationing a lot at Maldives lately. The sun-kissed golden beaches and the clear blue waters, plus the (almost) virus-free environment are huge draws. The months between December-April are also the perfect weather days at Maldives with a clear climate and an average temperature of 29-31 degree C.
