It&rsquos not every day that you hear of a discount on one of the most luxurious trains in the world. That&rsquos right, the Maharajas Express which runs across North-West and Central India is offering a 50% off on its tickets on certain select days from November to April.
Operated by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), the Marahajas Express started its services in March 2010 and is considered the costliest train on earth. Its huge 23 carriages run on five circuits and cover over 12 famous destinations of India. The kilometer-long train has a number of lodges and suits.
How does it work Termed as the Companion Offer, one person booking the ticket has to pay the full price while their companion gets a flat 50% off on their ticket. This offer is subject to the availability of cabins as mentioned on the IRCTC website. The offer, they say, is on a first come basis and cannot be clubbed with any other offers.
