Every tour of Paris consists of a visit to the Eiffel Tower. The sweeping views of the city are unparalleled. What better way to enjoy the experience than with a glass of wine What if we said you could savour a serving of Eiffel tower&rsquos own wine on a visit to the Iron Lady On October 16, 2019, the tower&rsquos operating company announced that a winery was installed on the first floor of the tower. 

This was an extension to Thierry Max&rsquos restaurant La Bulle Parisienne, which is housed in a large transparent dome. Barrels, tanks and a press are on display to visitors in this open-concept winery, 57 metres above ground. This winery, in partnership with La Winerie Parisienne will produce the first-ever vintage with a label of the Eiffel Tower, in the structure itself. The same is speculated to be released in the Spring of 2020. 

La Winerie Parisienne are the first winemakers to cultivate vineyards in the Paris region since the late 19th century, when the unfortunate Phylloxera plague destroyed the vineyards of the area. This makes them the first commercial vineyard in the region in over 150 years. On a plot near the former royal palace, they planted 7.5 acres of Chardonnay, Merlot, Chenin Blanc and Pinot Noir. One could expect (or rather, hope) the grapes for the Eiffel Tower wine to come from Versailles&rsquo backyard The grapes (expected to harvest next year) for the wine will be brought from their property to the tower where the process of fermenting it into (presumably) delicious wine will take place.
