The reson Brooklyn Museum, NYC, is hosting the largest U.S. exhibition in ten years devoted to Frida Kahlo, the famous Mexican artist who was best known for her self portraits, her use of folk art to express her views on identity, postcolonialism, gender, class and race. For the first time in the US, a collection of the artist's personal possessions from her lifeling home--Casa Azul a.k.a the Blue House, Mexico City, is being showcased in an art exhibition at the Brooklyn Museum.
