Thailands Free Visa On Arrival Scheme Extended Again

Thailand has extended the free visa on arrival scheme for Indian tourists till April 2020

Just when we thought that a getaway to Thailand couldn&rsquot get any better, the Thai government has given the vacationers more reasons to celebrate.Thailand, for the third consecutive time has extended the popular free visa on arrival scheme for Indian tourists. This policy was initially applicable till January 2019 but was later extended till April 30 and again till October 2019.   

&nbspAccording to reports by News18, the Thai Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-Ocha, has stated that, in order to stimulate growth of the tourism sector in the country, visa fee will be waived off for tourists from India and 18 other countries. Visa fee of 2000 baht or INR 4,686, is to be waived off till April 2020.

The countries that will benefit from this scheme in addition to India include China, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Mauritius, Romania, Fiji, Taiwan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Latvia, Kazakhstan, Ethiopia, Bhutan, Malta and few others. According to reports, visa free entry for tourists from China and India was proposed to the cabinet, but it was rejected.
