The nationwide curfew in Thailand was lifted on June 15 after over two months as the country recorded 21 days since the last case of locally transmitted COVID-19. Thailand has recorded 3,135 cases and 58 deaths.

Masks were adopted as the norm as early as January, and borders were shut. As restrictions are being eased, strict social distancing rules will have to be followed. Reuters reported that schools with less than 120 students, exhibition halls, music concerts, film productions, playgrounds, amusement parks, sports competitions without spectators and sale of alcohol in restaurants can resume. Thailand is also planning to reopen the country for tourism by creating travel bubbles with countries that have also managed to contain the spread of the virus.

While international arrivals are still banned through June, travel could soon resume with countries like China, Japan, Laos, Myanmar, Cambodia, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand and some Middle Eastern states. Thailand will be targeting medical and business travellers.
