The country has introduced new &lsquotourist visas&rsquo which can last upto 90 days, with conditions attached.
According to the new norms, all visitors will have to undergo the PCR test and mandatory quarantine upon arrival. International tourists will have to self-isolate for 14 days at an alternative state quarantine hotel.
Further for those visitors who want to stay longer in Thailand, they can do so by applying for special visas. These special visas will be only allocated to visitors coming from low risk countries such as Australia, China and Vietnam. It will grant a stay of upto 90 days which can be extended twice which is a maximum of 9 months.
Other instructions include providing a negative test result within 72 hours of arrival and one test post landing. If found positive, visitors will have to self isolate for 14 days. Medical and travel insurance will also have to be provided in order to cover the expense of COVID-19 in case it is contracted.
