If the Taj Wellington Mews Luxury Residences, located in the Colaba neighbourhood of Mumbai, has been your preferred place of stay on the west coast, then there is good news for you.  Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has come up with a similar luxury address on the east coast too &ndash Taj Wellington Mews Chennai.

Located on Old Mahabalipuram Road (OMR), now popularly known as the &lsquoIT Corridor of Chennai&rsquo, this five-star apartment hotel is about 13km&nbspaway by road  from the airport.

Taj Wellington Mews Chennai, set back from the busy road, has 112 fully furnished serviced apartments.

Starting with a waterfall and a striking 45feet tall chandelier at the entrance, the property takes pride in its incorporation of local art forms and motifs contemporised through modern aesthetics.

Facilities include Matchpoint &ndash an all-day diner, Jia Spa, an outdoor swimming pool, a state of the art gym, etc.

And if you are there in bracing weather, you may also pay a visit to the Mahabalipuram Group of Temples, dating back to the seventh and eighth centuries, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which is about 45km by road.

Scheduled for an April opening, this fully furnished serviced apartment has already entered the record books as South Asia&rsquos first all-women managed luxury residences.

The announcement was made on March 8 as part of IHCL&rsquos Women&rsquos Day celebration.

The company said it was their &lsquoyet another step towards creating an equitable workplace, celebrating and empowering women in the hospitality industry&rsquo.
