Chennai's Colonial Jewel Reopens

In an iconic marriage of tradition and modernity, Taj Connemara completed its almost two-year long renovation and reopened in Chennai over the weekend. Named after Lord Connemara, the then governor of Madras, this century-old property is part of the city&rsquos colonial heritage - a place where the British relaxed, indulged and enjoyed.

Today, the property has been refurbished with a classic colonial influence, with interiors featuring wooden carvings from the Mahabalipuram temples.
