Appropriately titled &lsquoMaking Van Gogh&rsquo, the exhibition trifurcates the life of the artist into three chapters namely, legend, influence and painting style. These chapters talk about the origin of Vincent Van Gogh as we knew him, his influence on the German community of artists, and finally his distinct style of painting which continues to inspire millions of artists. With over 120 paintings and works on paper including around 50 of the artist&rsquos key works and 70 artworks by German artists, the exhibition aims at emphasizing the role of gallery owners, museums, private collectors and art critics in Germany in the early twentieth century. The artist might not have been celebrated during his lifetime, but this exhibit, all 2,000 metres of it, pays homage to Van Gogh&rsquos manic artistic energy.
