Here's a toast "Live long and prosper"

If you&rsquore one to subscribe to the idea that a glass of wine a day is the key to good heart health, we have the perfect way for you to &lsquolive long and prosper&rsquo. No, that wasn&rsquot a reference in vain. Star Trek wines is now officially a thing. The maiden collection features two limited edition wines, a 2016 Chateau Picard Cru Bourgeois Bordeaux and a 2017 Special Reserve United Federation of Planets Old Vine Zinfandel, priced at $60 and $50, respectively.

The star of the collection, however, is the Chateau Picard. Serendipitously in time with the premiere of the Star Trek Picard series, the wine is eponymous with both the series&rsquo Jean-Luc Picard's family vineyard, and an award-winning, multi-generational vineyard in the Bordeaux region of France. The brand has collaborated with the actual vineyard to introduce the Picard wine.

These Star Trek-inspired wines have been launched by Wines That Rock. &ldquoThe actual Chateau Picard makes a Cru Bourgeois in Bordeaux that is highly regarded and sought after,&rdquo announced Howard Jackowitz, co-founder of Wines That Rock, on Star Trek&rsquos website. &ldquoObviously, there was no mention of Star Trek&rsquos Jean-Luc on the bottles, as it was the legacy family&rsquos winery from Bordeaux. No connection other than the name. So, working together with the Star Trek production team and Chateau Picard wine makers in France, we crafted this limited edition with Jean-Luc&rsquos family label and the wine from this 5th generation vineyard. It&rsquos been a fun process&rdquo
