All of North America doesn&rsquot necessarily freeze during winter. California, whose climate is often compared to that of the Mediterranean belt, welcomes the New Year not with chattering teeth but with gastronomical promotions. From January 1 to January 31, it is California Restaurant Month, when outdoor caf&eacutes and bistros lay out spreads with fresh ingredients and innovative recipes. Many of the wines come from California&rsquos own vineyards. The coastal towns and villages offer beautiful local experiences alongside good food.
