Travelling to Singapore just got a whole lot easier for passengers traveling in the New Year.
Scoot, the budget-friendly subsidiary of Singapore Airlines, has announced flights to six Indian cities - Amritsar, Tiruchirappalli, Hyderabad Coimbatore, Trivandrum, and Visakhapatnam out of which the latter three are new connection spots. The airline started operating these flights from December 28, as part of the ongoing air bubble travel arrangement in line with the COVID-19 protocols put forth by the Singaporean government.
The airline is also offering promotional fares available through their direct channels via which passengers can book tickets from the mobile app or website.
There's a lot going for the airline - for one, the tickets are reasonably priced. Plus, you can opt for a special child-free zone in case you want to travel in relative peace. For a nominal amount of Rs 1,500 (or about £16), passengers flying from any country can upgrade their seats to the ScootinSilence zone between rows 21 and 25 where entry of children below the age of 12 is restricted.
With almost all such flights fully booked, the Scoot team has been receiving a good response so far from passengers. However, rising Covid cases have made them come up with several sets of travel rules and accommodation upgrades. For instance, the MaxYourSpace option lets you purchase up to two empty adjacent seats.
The flights between the six cities and Singapore are not part of the Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) arrangements. So if you are planing a trip, check all entry requirements into Singapore and current health control measures, including seven days Stay Home Notice (SHN) in Singapore.
