This Dinner Inside an Airplane Cost Rs 34,645 Tickets Sold Out in Minutes

It wasn&rsquot too long ago that the head office of Thai Airways converted itself into an airline-themed restaurant. Generally people are critical of airplane food. But lockdown-weary people had flocked to the place to taste airplane food after months.

Singapore Airlines has taken it to a step further and has converted a grounded flight at Changi Airport into a restaurant serving airline food.&nbspAnd passes were sold out in 30 minutes.

The &lsquopassengers&rsquo paid a hefty amount of to SGD 642 (Rs 34,645) for a meal on board the grounded Airbus A380, the world's biggest passenger jet.

Meal costs at the restaurant varies according to the ticket. The most expensive option is a four-course meal in a first-class suite, while the cheapest costs SGD 53 (Rs 2,858) and is a three-course meal in economy class.

The interesting fact is that people are ready to pay the huge amount, and all the 900 passes were sold out in just 30 minutes for lunch on October 24 and 25, within half an hour.

After the overwhelming demand, the carrier announced that the restaurant will stay open for two more days.

The aviation industry has suffered a huge blow and in order to stay afloat, airline companies have introduced several schemes to make some money.
