SAS Returns To India With New Nonstop Mumbai-Copenhagen Flight: Check Fares, Schedule

Indian travellers will soon have a new direct option to Scandinavia. Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) is returning to India after 17 years with a new nonstop service connecting Mumbai and Copenhagen, starting in October 2026. The new route will operate five times a week and offer travellers from India easier connections to several destinations across Europe and North America.

Direct Flights From Mumbai To Copenhagen

The new SAS service will begin on October 1, 2026, with the first flight from Mumbai operating on October 3. The airline will operate the route with an Airbus A330 with 266 seats.

Flight SK970 will depart Mumbai at 6:30 AM and arrive in Copenhagen at 12:15 PM. The return flight, SK969, will depart Copenhagen at 4:10 PM and arrive in Mumbai at 4:30 AM the following day.

The Copenhagen-Mumbai service will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, while the Mumbai-Copenhagen flight will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

The Mumbai-Copenhagen journey will take around nine hours and 15 minutes, while the return journey will take approximately eight hours and 50 minutes.

Easier Connections From Copenhagen

The new service is expected to make Copenhagen an even more useful gateway for Indian travellers heading further into Europe and beyond.

From Copenhagen, SAS offers connections to destinations including New York, Boston, and Toronto. This gives travellers flying from Mumbai another option to reach North America, while also offering easier connections to several European cities.

For SAS, the route also strengthens its intercontinental network and reconnects India with Scandinavia after a 17-year gap.

The Airbus A330 operating the route will have 266 seats across different cabins, including business class, premium economy and economy.

SAS says the new service will offer travellers a combination of reliability, service and connectivity. The airline has also highlighted its operational punctuality as one of the features it hopes to bring to the new route.

Tickets Are Now On Sale

Tickets for the new Mumbai-Copenhagen service are already available through SAS booking channels. Return fares start at around INR 50,000-60,000, though prices may vary based on travel dates and availability.
