No Flights To And From Delhi Airport For Two Hours Till Jan 26

Due to Republic Day celebrations, there are restrictions on flights in the national capital from January 19 to 29. The Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA), the largest in the country, will suspend flight operations for a specific time from 10:20 AM to 12:45 PM during this period.

Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) officially announced that no flights are allowed between 10:20 AM and 12:45 PM from January 19 to 26. Non-scheduled and chartered flights are also restricted from 10 AM to 1:15 PM from January 19 to 25.

The Airports Authority of India (AAI) updated the Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) to include both scheduled airline and chartered non-scheduled flights, prohibiting their operations between 10 AM and 1:15 PM from January 19 to 25.

Operations of the Indian Air Force (IAF), Border Security Force (BSF), Army aviation helicopters, and state-owned aircraft/helicopters carrying a state's Governor/Chief Minister are not affected by the NOTAM.

Republic Day dress rehearsals are ongoing in the national capital, with traffic advisories in place for specific locations and times. Kartavya Path stretch between India Gate and Vijay Chowk will be closed to traffic. Real-time traffic updates are advised for seamless travel. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) suggests planning journeys considering potential long queues at metro stations during this period.

The 75th Republic Day celebrations on January 26 at Kartavya Path will include the President's arrival, the unfurling of the national flag, a 21-gun salute, and French President Emmanuel Macron participating as the chief guest. The event will showcase the nation's military strength and feature displays of missiles, tanks, and equipment. States and union territories will contribute with vibrant tableaux reflecting their culture, heritage, and thematic elements.
