London's British Museum Just Got a Record-Breaking Lego Bridge

The British Museum has earned a Guinness World Record for a bridge made of 2,05,000 Lego bricks which were assembled into a bridge measuring 111 feet, 6 inches long with an unsupported span of 55 feet, 11 inches. The new record beats the previous one which had a span of 16.46 metres in 2016.

The creation was put together at the Ironbridge Gorge Museums last year in a partnership with ICE. The effort beat the record for a bridge with the longest span made from interlocking plastic bricks.

The model designed for age groups 16 and over features authentic details including the Unity Trinity statue as well as the Munich Memorial Clock.

The set costs &pound249.99 and will soon have collectors scrambling to buy it.  

Enginuity&nbspis one of the ten interactive design and technology museums operated by the Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust. It was chosen by the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) for the world record attempt because both organisations are dedicated to promoting subjects like science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) to future generations.
