Rajasthan is poised for a major boost in road connectivity with the upcoming six-lane Greenfield Expressway, designed to slash travel time between Delhi and the state by nearly three hours. Rajasthan is set to revolutionise its road network.

The 181-kilometre corridor, running between Kotputli and Kishangarh, will form a crucial transport link through central Rajasthan, connecting a number of key towns as well as prominent religious sites.

Once completed, the route will cut the current driving time from around five hours to just two, providing a faster, safer, and more comfortable experience for travellers heading towards Jaipur and beyond. The expressway is also expected to ease congestion on existing highways, enhancing overall connectivity between the National Capital Region and Rajasthan.

According to reports, work on Rajasthan’s ambitious six-lane Greenfield Expressway is expected to commence in December. The project will span approximately 1,679 hectares of land and is estimated to cost around INR 6,906 crore.

The expressway will measure 100 metres in width and rise 15 feet above ground level, reports state. It will originate from the junction of NH-48 and NH-448 in Kishangarh and terminate at Paniyala on NH-148B in Kotputli, creating a vital new transport link across the state.

The route will cut through the Gavadi area of Neem Ka Thana and connect several important towns, including Khatu Shyam Ji, Makrana, Nawa, Kuchaman City, and Kishangarh. Designed to enhance connectivity across central Rajasthan, the expressway will significantly ease travel for daily commuters, traders, and tourists.

By offering a faster, congestion-free route between Delhi, Jaipur, and religious destinations such as Khatu Shyam Ji, the project is expected to improve both regional mobility and economic activity across the corridor.

The initiative forms part of the government’s broader strategy to develop nine new greenfield expressways, designed to strengthen national connectivity and stimulate regional economic growth.
