Rajasthan Tourism All Set To Develop New Tourist Destinations

From desert to hills to forests, Rajasthan's diverse landscape has always beckoned travellers from far and wide. While it already offers innumerable unique experiences, the state tourism department is gearing up to open up the parts of Rajasthan yet to be explored by identifying and developing new tourist destinations across all districts.

Supported by the Tourism Department Fund, the process of expanding Rajasthan's appeal to tourists is not only based on a singular vision of amping its status as a sought-after tourist hub but also on benefitting the local community in each of the districts.

While the project was officially announced by the members of the state tourism department on September 11 in Jaipur, the work has already begun. Elaborating on the plan, Smt. Gayatri Rathod, Principal Secretary of the Tourism Department, said, "Two unique tourist destinations have been earmarked for development in each district. This visionary plan not only aims to enhance existing tourist spots but also envisions the creation of entirely new attractions for visitors."

In addition, Dr Rashmi Sharma, Director of the Tourism Department, also highlighted the initiative's collaborative approach as she spoke about how the department is working along with other government departments, including the Forest Department, Archaeology Department, and Public Works Department, as well as municipal bodies, to ensure the plan's holistic facilitation.

Talking about the destinations the initiative covers, Sharma said, "With a total investment of 70.06 crores, development and renovation activities are currently underway in districts including Alwar, Ajmer, Bhilwara, Bundi, Bharatpur, Banswara, Dausa, Dungarpur, Jodhpur, Jhalawar, Jalore, Jhunjhunu, Karauli, Nagaur and Sirohi including Bikaner, Chittorgarh, Hanumangarh, Jaisalmer, Jaipur, Kota, Pratapgarh etc."

Therefore, not only is the development of new tourist hubs a priority but even the revitalisation of the cities and towns that find a mention in every traveller's must-visit list.
