RailOne App Launched: Indian Railways' New All-In-One App To Ease Ticket Booking And More; Here's All You Need To Know

On July 1, 2025, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw launched RailOne, a next-generation mobile application developed by the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS), a public sector undertaking of Indian Railways. The app aims to consolidate all passenger-related railway services into one easy-to-use platform.

What is RailOne App?

RailOne is a comprehensive, all-in-one mobile application designed to enhance the digital experience for railway passengers in India. Available for download on both the Android Play Store and iOS App Store, the app offers a user-friendly interface and combines a wide range of railway services under a single digital roof.

The RailOne app replaces the need for multiple railway-related apps by integrating features from existing apps like UTS (Unreserved Ticketing System) and RailConnect. This not only saves device space but also simplifies access to services.

What Passengers Can Use RailOne App For

• Book unreserved tickets and platform tickets with a 3 per cent discount.

• Track trains live in real time.

• Lodge and track grievances through a built-in redressal system.

• Order food via e-catering services.

• Book porters and taxis for first- and last-mile connectivity.

Access inclusive services for divyangjan (persons with disabilities), students, and patients.

How To Use RailOne App

RailOne offers a single sign-on system, meaning users can log in using an mPIN or biometric authentication. Besides, users of existing platforms like UTS and RailConnect can use their old credentials to log in.

The app also has a built-in R-Wallet (Railway e-wallet), making payments and bookings smoother and faster.

With RailOne, Indian Railways is taking a big step towards digitising and streamlining its services. By integrating everything from ticket booking to grievance redressal in one place, RailOne makes the journey smoother, not just on the tracks, but also in the app.

Other Changes

Effective July 1, the Ministry of Railways made Aadhaar verification mandatory for IRCTC IDs to book Tatkal and emergency tickets. This step aims to curb misuse by IRCTC partner agents who often bulk-book tickets, making it difficult for genuine passengers to secure seats. Another major update is that the timing for preparing the first reservation chart has been revised. Instead of the previous four-hour window, the chart will be prepared eight hours before a train’s scheduled departure, giving passengers more clarity and time to manage their travel plans.
