Tour Buses No Longer Welcome In Pariss City Centre

While Paris is on everybody&rsquos travel wishlist, the city&rsquos senior officials are taking drastic steps to control over tourism. Paris&rsquo deputy mayor, Emmanuel Gr&eacutegoire told the Le Parisien newspaper that city tour buses are no longer welcome in the city centre.

According to him, these buses lead to overcrowding, traffic congestion, and noise and air pollution. The deputy mayor also directed the tour guides to arrange for tours that included walking or cycling around the city. He also said that the tourists can either walk the city around or use public transport just like everybody else.

&ldquoWe no longer want the total anarchy of tourist buses in Paris&hellip Buses are no longer welcome in the very heart of the city,&rdquo said Mr Gregoire.

Paris is frequented by tourists all year around and this has lead to problems being created for locals who are subjected to massive traffic jams and long lines at all tourist places on any given day.

Most of these tourist buses are hop on hop off buses or double decker buses that offered the tourists a comfortable option of touring the city while enjoying its intrinsic beauty. They connected all famous monuments and spots worth visiting in the city.

According to France24, &ldquoLast year, tourist arrivals in Paris and the Ile-de-France region around it set a record of 50 million people, up from 48 million in 2017.&rdquo
