Govind Sagar Lake in Himachal Pradesh's Bilaspur district is about to become even more exciting for adventure enthusiasts. Parasailing activities are set to commence soon, adding to the lake’s list of attractions. A well-known Delhi-based company, which currently operates parasailing in Tehri, has been invited to conduct trial runs for the project.
The Bilaspur district administration has given the green light for the trials, and the company will start operations in the first week of December. Over the next two months, they’ll bring their specialised parasailing boats and equipment to carry out the activity. A technical committee of experts will monitor the trial phase to ensure safety and smooth operations. Once the trials are complete, the District Regulation Committee will decide whether to approve the project for permanent operations based on the trial report.
If all goes well, parasailing will become a permanent feature at Govind Sagar Lake. Formal permits will be issued, and a proper operational framework will be developed to maintain safety and efficiency. This new attraction is expected to make the lake an even more appealing destination for tourists.
Govind Sagar Lake is already popular for its cruise rides and shikara boat experiences. Adding parasailing to the mix will enhance its appeal as a hub for water adventure sports and open up opportunities for local employment and economic growth.
The Deputy Commissioner of Bilaspur, Aabid Hussain Sadiq, shared that the initiative is part of a larger vision to establish Bilaspur as a leading destination for water tourism. The stunning natural beauty of the lake, combined with these adventurous activities, will make it a hotspot for travellers seeking thrilling experiences. More water sports activities are also being planned for the future. With parasailing on the horizon, Govind Sagar Lake is set to become a must-visit destination for adventure seekers and a significant boost to the region’s tourism potential.
