With thousands of devotees expected to gather along riverbanks and water bodies for Chhath Puja, the Noida Traffic Police has announced temporary traffic diversions across multiple routes in the Gautam Buddh Nagar district. The measures, effective from October 27 to October 28, 2025, aim to ensure public safety, smooth traffic flow, and easy access to puja sites during one of the most significant festivals in North India.

Mass Gatherings Expected Across Key Ghats

Chhath Puja, celebrated with great devotion in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and parts of Delhi-NCR, sees large congregations near rivers, ponds, and lakes where devotees offer prayers to the Sun God. Anticipating a heavy rush of pilgrims and vehicles, the authorities have put in place special arrangements near ghats and traffic-heavy stretches in Noida, including the Yamuna River (Kalindi Kunj), Hindon River Bridge at Kuleshra, Chotpur/Bahlopur Sector-63, and the Noida Stadium at Sector 21A.

According to officials, heavy, medium, and light cargo vehicles will face temporary restrictions and diversions during this period. However, medical and fire service vehicles will be exempted to ensure that emergency response systems remain unaffected.

Detailed Diversion Plan

  • Vehicles travelling from the Noida–Greater Noida Expressway towards Delhi via Kalindi Border will be diverted from Charkha Roundabout to Dalit Prerna Sthal, proceeding towards their destination via DND or Chilla.

  • Traffic moving from Sector 37 towards Kalindi Border will be rerouted from Mahamaya Flyover to Dalit Prerna Sthal, again moving ahead via DND or Chilla.

  • Vehicles from Surajpur towards Phase 2 will be diverted at Kachha Sadak Tiraha towards Chauganpur Roundabout, and can proceed via Bisrakh Roundabout.

  • Traffic coming from Phase 2 towards Hindon River will be diverted from Phase 2 towards Kakrala, proceeding through Sorkha and Bisrakh.

  • Vehicles going from Kisan Chowk towards Parthala will be redirected from Kisan Chowk to Bisrakh, from where they can move via Sorkha and Parthala.

  • Conversely, those heading from Parthala towards Kisan Chowk will be diverted from the Parthala Roundabout towards Sorkha, with access via Sorkha and Bisrakh.
