When the pandemic came crashing down on the world, New York City was the first to impose strict measures to curb it, and today it is the first one to relax them as well.

The city wants to test out the new travel restrictions on citizens that have been injected with the vaccine.

&ldquoDomestic travellers are no longer required to quarantine or test out within 90 days of full vaccination&rdquo, NYC Governor Andrew Cuomo has announced.

But here&rsquos the catch, beyond those 90 days incoming travellers and vaccinated citizens, will need to quarantine themselves, following the testing rules.

The government is yet to notify its people if they need to sign the contact tracing form that tracks an individual&rsquos travel history, contact information and whether they are visiting from a high-risk region.

Foreign tourists and travel enthusiasts had to present a negative test along with a quarantine of three days but now they only need to submit the negative test within 72 hours of travel.

NYC was in shambles earlier when the pandemic struck with millions of cases and more than 4,000 deaths.

Now it's limping back to a semblance of normalcy. It is preparing to reopen its entertainment and sports centres from March 22, 2021, and ease out the limitations on private gatherings too.
