The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has issued new set of guidelines for International arrivals due to the rise in the COVID cases in Europe. These international arrivals include all overseas citizens of India cardholders and Persons of Indian Origin, foreign nationals who want to visit the country for any specific reason. But the rules are not the same for tourists.

The new guidelines state that the travellers have the choice to not undergo quarantine if they submit a negative RT-PCR report with three days before the flight. According to the circular, travellers should also give an undertaking on the portal or otherwise to the Ministry of Civil Aviation through the concerned airlines before they are given the permission to undertake the journey that they would follow the decision of the government authority to undergo the quarantine and self monitoring their health for two weeks.

Those who don&rsquot want to quarantine can submit a self-declaration form online.

The guidelines also state that people who were not able to undergo the RT-PCR test before their departure and want to seek exemption from the quarantine can do that by availing the test facility at the airport. The Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad and Cochin Airports have these services available.

The tourists have to submit a negative COVID-19 certification, and if the passengers do not opt for the RT-PCR test at the airport or this service is not available at the airport, they have to undergo a mandatory seven days institutional quarantine and then a seven day home quarantine.

Even states can impose any additional restrictions related to isolation and quarantine rules for international passengers.
