Tamil Nadu Issues Fresh Guidelines for Travellers

Travellers now have a new set of guidelines to follow in order to travel to Tamil Nadu

As the coronavirus cases spurge in Tamil Nadu, the Health and Welfare Department of the state issues new guidelines for those traveling to Tamil Nadu.

And E-Pass has now been made compulsory for everyone, except those travelling from the states of Andhra Pradesh, Pondicherry and Karnataka.

For international passengers travelling from South Africa, United Kingdom and Brazil travelling to Tamil Nadu, will have to submit their COVID-19 sample test, even if they had been tested negative in other Indian airports. 

International travellers, arriving from Europe and Middle East (countries except South Africa, Brazil and UK) will have to log into Air Suvidha Portal and submit their self declaration form (SDF) for COVID-19 before arriving to India. Besides this, they would also need to carry their COVID-19 negative report and do a RT-PCR test before arriving at the Tamil Nadu airport. This report should be 72 hours prior to the departure and shall be uploaded on the portal as well. 

According to the guidelines issued last month, travellers (except from Kerala and Maharashtra) had to monitor their health for 14 days after reaching Tamil Nadu.

For travellers coming from Kerala and Maharashtra, they had to be quarantined for seven days and monitor their health based on their symptoms. Passengers who show symptoms would be asked to get tested. 

Last year in August, In order to boost the economy, the Tamil Nadu government had exempted quarantine for all business passengers coming to the state for 72 hours or less. And it looks like that rule is still in place -&nbspeven now, they are exempt from the norms of quarantine.
