South Africa is Giving Away Free Air Trips... for a Year

Imagine winning free air travel, for a year. South Africa's residents can join a contest that lets them do just that. All they have to do is come up with a &ldquounique, aspirational and cool&rdquo name for South Africa&rsquos brand new airline set to launch in the later part of 2020.

The first flight for this airline will fly in December 2020 between Johannesburg and Cape
Town which ranks 12 on the busiest aviation routes in the world. Winners get to travel on the airline for a whole year free of cost.

The new airline draws inspiration from Uber&rsquos &ldquohigh tech, customer obsessed approach to
mobility&rdquo and will run domestic flights. It is a collaboration partnership between Gidon Novick, founder of the low-cost airline Kulula and Global Aviation, one of the leading operators of Airbus A320. According to Novick a unique opportunity has been created by the pandemic in a bid to start a new airline. Not only is the airline more effective but it also inventive as it taps into the unique talent of South Africa.

The success of a new low-cost airline depends a lot on its distance from debt. The airline will begin with used aircrafts which can be leased or bought outright as a way to keep the prices down.
