Amsterdam&rsquos Van Gogh Museum is bringing together two of the trendsetters of modern art for a rare exhibition running from 25 September 2015 to 17 January 2016.
The two prominent artists Edvard Munch (1863-1944) and Vincent van Gogh (1853-1890) are celebrated for their emotionally-charged paintings and drawings, their personal and creative style and their lives which were full of hardship. Both struggled to modernise art by depicting existential and universal themes in expressive visual language. Despite the many eye-catching parallels in their work and artistic ambitions, they have never before been brought together in one exhibition.
