Mumbai's Sea-Facing Worli Promenade To Open In July

Mumbai’s iconic coastline is about to welcome a new addition—an expansive promenade in Worli that promises to change how the city connects with the sea. Part of the ambitious Mumbai Coastal Road project, this 7.5-kilometre-long walkway will stretch from Priyadarshini Park to the Bandra-Worli Sea Link, offering uninterrupted views of the Arabian Sea and the city skyline.

Taking inspiration from world-class waterfronts like Hong Kong’s Avenue of Stars and Singapore’s Marina Bay, the Worli promenade will be a pedestrian paradise. Expect wide, tree-lined walking paths, smooth cycling tracks, and strategically placed seating zones that invite locals and tourists alike to pause, breathe, and soak in the view.

Designed with sustainability in mind, the promenade will be landscaped with native plants and feature access to the shoreline at low tide. Planned amenities include 20 pedestrian underpasses for access, jogging and cycling tracks, and a new viewing deck offering picture-perfect coast vistas.

Although its completion has been delayed by the monsoon rains, with heavy showers in late May disrupting work, the officials have confirmed a revised opening date in July 2025.
