With the recent advancements in technology, one cannot help but laud Elon Musk for his contribution. One such mind boggling innovation to his credit is the multibillion dollar hyperloop project.

For those who are not living under a rock, the buzz about this superfast transport technology is hard to miss. The hyperloop will use magnetic energy to push capsules holding passengers at a speed of about 1,200 km per hour. This technology is being used to link the cities of Mumbai and Pune that are almost 200 km apart. This hyperloop will run from BKC (Bandra Kurla Complex) in Mumbai to Wakad in Pune. At present it takes three and half hours to reach Pune from Mumbai but with the implementation of this project the travel time between the two cities will come down to almost 30 minutes.

&nbspAccording to a recent PTI report, the Maharashtra state government has accorded infrastructure status to this ultra modern hyperloop project. This status can help fast track the land acquisition process for the project and will enable people to shuttle between the two cities in less than 30 minutes. The state government has named a consortium of Virgin hyperloop One and UAE&rsquos DP World as the original proponents of this project. A statement from the chief minister&rsquos office also mentioned that the FDI in this investment is around Rs 70,000 crores and will take 7 years for completion.

As per reports by Financial Express, this project will not only reduce the travel time but also ease the traffic along the expressway and can reduce road accidents and greenhouse gas emissions.
